I am trying to use the Advanced unit of measurement to track inventory attributes. It works great for almost all of my parts, but I have 2 materials that have had costs associated with them and now I get the error “Cannot modify Track Inventory Attributes. PartTran records already exist for this Part.” Is there any way to get around this?

I asked this question at the Epicor Insights conference and (if I understood correctly) there was going to be a change in the logic to make it possible to enable ‘Track Inventory Attributes’ even for parts with transactions.
I have sent an email to the person I chatted with, for clarification. I’ll let you know what I hear back.

Here’s the response I got:
Yea, that was the plan to have it for 2023.1 but there was an issue with time that caused it to not get finished. So we are targeting October and based on how much QA it takes, we may open it up to 2023.1. So stay tuned for that.

Just checking in to ensure this feature still isn’t available. We recently acquired the AUoM licensing and are running Kinetic 2023.2.6 on-prem (Test Environment). However, I received the same error of “Cannot modify Track Inventory Attributes. PartTran records already exist for this part.”
Is there any recommendation on how to work around this or is the only option to wait for a release that allows you to track if there are existing records or quantity on hand?
Sorry for the delay in response, I have just now been able to test this in 2023.2.11. It is possible now in Part UOM Conversion.
