Time phase report Q's

If you want to use it to reorder parts from inventory using max, min & safety qtys

The report doesn’t work in E10.0.700.4, there is no fix for the report and Epicor says that it is fixed in E10.1

So I have kind of weird question. We just went live and and are using inventory and MOM's for the first time. Up until this point it was all done manually. We have some parts that we want to keep in stock and naturally the Time Phase report should be what you use to tell you when you need to order parts. We can't get the report to spit anything out. One of the reasons that I suspect is that we are not using scheduling within the system (we are doing it manually/rule of thumb). Am I correct that if we aren't scheduling in the system that the time phase will not work?

Thanks,
Brandon

If a sales order and job have the same MANUFACTURE type part number and the sales order release in NOT checked as MAKE DIRECT and the job has a Request Date, Start Date and Due Date. You should see both the order and job in timephase. I don’t think the system cares how you schedule the job. (Manual, back, forward, global finite, whatever)

So if I have a make direct order with some stock parts somewhere included, would those stock parts show up somewhere on the time-phase?

If we don't have a start, or due date that will screw it up too right? No one has set any of those yet.

Also, whenever we have seen the box "would you like to schedule the job?" we just say no because we know that we aren't using scheduling. Do we need to be scheduling the jobs even though we may not be following it?

The stock pars with show up but not the demand from the sales order because it’s flagged MAKE DIRECT.

As far as scheduling jobs and not following it. Welcome to manufacturing.

I would think that even though you are not using the scheduling dates from the system, that you would want to schedule the job.  It not only puts dates to the job, but material dates as well.  The material dates is what you are doing to see on TimePhase as well.

If you add material to a job and don’t reschedule it, the material required date will be blank and you will see that in TimePhase as well.

I just added a part to a job without scheduling it.  It does show up on the TimePhase report, but at the bottom with no date.

If you add material to a job and don’t reschedule it, the material required date will be blank and you will see that in TimePhase as well.

So if we never scheduled (much less REscheduled it) that's probably why stuff wasn't showing up on the report right? We just figured out some of this when stuff we need isn't being ordered. Fun.

It is hard to say because I have the MRP and Scheduling Modules.   I am not sure how the system would react.

In my case, even though I did not schedule the job, it still showed up on the report, but on the bottom with no date.
