For one part only (that we have found so far), the time Phase Inquiry shows some Balance values that are not decremented when a Job has a Required Qty listed. How can that be?
This is base Time Phase screen with no BPMs on any time Phase method.
We ran Refresh Part Quantities and Allocations, but it did not help, even though the STD007W part number was listed in the report.
But, I don’t understand what that means in this context. STD007W is a purchased part and not checked as Buy to Order on either Part or Site tabs. What am I missing?
We are single site and the part exists.
I do see that Make Direct is checked on the Unfirm jobs that MRP generated. But, I can’t uncheck it. I’ll go looking for where that field is set on the MOM now, and possibly who and why it was changed.
Ensure that the part is not set as Non-Stock on either the Part or Site tabs in Part Entry. That will drive MRP to mark job materials as either Make Direct or Purchase Direct.
I don’t think there is a flag in the BOM for purchase direct. Epicor determines what needs to happen by looking at the part setting. Not 100% on this but I’ve checked the ECOMtl table and there is no buy or purchase named field.
@Banderson Yes, Part STD007W is marked Purchase Direct on the Material List for the unfirm jobs that show up with the Direct exception in Time Phase. But, the Purchase Direct checkbox is grayed out so I can not change it.
Looking at the Change Log for Part Entry for STD007W, someone changed Non-Stock from False to True on 5-24-2022 and then re-changed Non-Stock from True to False on 6-2-2022. It is now Unchecked on both Part>Detail and Part>Site. We run MRP every day at 3:00 am. I’ll run MRP manually with full regen - maybe it’s reusing jobs from those few days when it was Non-Stock.
I re-ran MRP with Regenerative checked and Reccycle MRP Jobs unchecked.
Now Time Phase looks right!
Problem solved!
Thank you for your help, Matt and Brandon.
Glad you figured it out. As an aside, whenever something is direct (make/buy), then it is meant to go to an order or job. As such, it will never go into inventory and you should never see the QOH move.
