We're using Podlin's utility, works great. For accounting,
purchasing and other power users, I just setup a Vantage icon that
did not use the timeout utility. Everybody else gets it. I started
with 15 minutes and got many complaints. Its set for 45 minutes now
and everybody seems to be happy.
We had one user start an activity in data collection and then left
the job entry screen open for 45+ minutes. It logged her into a job
operation 0 that did not exist in the job. We had to use the
endact4.r program from Vantage tech support to kill the activity. It
didn't, however, charge any time to the job. Other than that we've
had no problems with it. When we upgraded to 5.0 we had to purchase
the 5.0 version.
