The Proper Configuration for Task Agent

I am looking to run this report on the last day of every month. My question is what does End of month mean and Start of month. I have come to the conclusion that I have to run it at 12 AM on the first because otherwise if i set it for 31st it is not smart enough to run on the 30th or 28th. We are running 10.2.700

That’s not a report that’s a process. When you run that you commit all of your mfg transactions to the subledgers to which they belong.

Are you talking about scheduling Inventory/Wip Rec? That report is like a posting simulation. Think Edit List

Just talked to me user and they run this first then then the inventory reports.

I am looking to run this (and another report) for the whole pervious month. Am i going to have to create a new baq report? Currently the user log in the last night of every month to run these reports.

The Stock Status you can create a task agent schedule for. I generally create one for 12:01AM on the first of the month, then use “Dynamic” for as of date using Last Day of Previous Month or whatever the name of that dynamic is.

A gotcha here is DST it will mess with your task agent schedules so be prepared for that.

I would generally advise not running the capture right away unless

  • You know all transactions are commited
  • All jobs that will be closed are closed
  • You then lock the prior month with Earliest Apply Date

-or- be prepared to use the Post Outdated Transactions. The log under Last Run in Capture COS does not show if a prior run included outdated transactions or not, so we have a customization for that.

I think it might be “End of Month -1”

End of month - 1 month?
