When you say "moved our production databases and installation" do you mean you just moved the directories? If so, then yes you will have problems. We recommend a fresh installation to get the necessary registry information registered and then if you need to, move over the directories. Caution in doing this though, you will need to make sure your versions of both OpenEdge and Vantage are exactly the same on both servers prior to moving them. After that you can change the .mfgsys files and go from there.
Unfortunately, this is the bottom line issue when moving servers. If you have customized any reports (i.e. gone through the native ODBC instead of using Vantage) then you will need to modify all reports. Also, we have seen in some instances where custom code has the UNC path associated with it and every line of code has to be changed. This could be done easier with a global variable set to the server name - although I'm not a programmer, so I don't know if this is actually possible - seems logical though.
As far as the Sonic and stuff, I'm not familiar enough with these applications to talk about them.
