We have been running Citrix with Terminal Server since Vantage 3.

I definitely would (and have) install Progress locally on the Terminal
Server, as this reduces a lot of network traffic from the Terminal
server to the Vantage server.

Before Vantage 6, I set the “TempDirectory” equal to blank in the
*.vtg file, and used “net use v: \\servername\epicor
<file:///\\servername\epicor> /persistent:no” in the usrlogon.cmd file
on each Terminal Server. If the “TempDirectory” is set to blank in
the *.vtg file, then Vantage will create a temp directory in the
“Documents and Settings\username\temp” directory. With the
“persistent:no” option in the Vantage drive mapping, the drive is
re-created each time the user logs on.

However; there is a bug in the automatic creation of the temp directory
beginning with ver 6 of Vantage… If you set the “TempDirectory” to
blank, you can not print ANY Report Builder reports.

In fact, this is not just with Terminal Server, but even with a LAN
client, if you leave the TempDirectory blank, you cannot print Report
Builder Reports!

The only way around it was to have a drive-letter mapped work directory
for each user!!!

You will need to modify your .vtg file to exclude the temporary folder
of C:
\vntg**** whatever version you are working on. Terminal server creates a
temporary folder for each user on C:\temp\username and all the Vantage
temporary files created go there. Refer to documentation posted on
Epicor’s
web support. If you have NT TS and Citrix, I would avoid installing the
complete version of Progress as suggested in the same Epicor’s
document.
Stick with the client installation first and if it works, leave it as
that.

Another issue I found is that for Vantage 6.0 installation, the same
folder
of \\server\epicor <file:///\\server\epicor> was used for both Vantage
4.0
and 6.0. I followed the rule that you do not share the same drive letter
for
each Vantage installation. I used M:\ for Vantage 4.0 and S:\ for

0. It seems that this was an issue in my TS. I had to recreate user
profiles
to solve this situation. Unsharing the drive M:\ was not good enough for

TS. Maybe, someone in the group could share whether they had the same
problem and what solution they have.

Currently, I have Vantage 5.1-Progress 9.1 C and Vantage 6.0-Progress 9.

Yes, we use it. My users are set up to have access as a ts user on that
server. On their TS session we map them to the drive. On the server we set
up the client. It works fine.

Make sure that the server you are trying to log into has user accounts
identical to the ones you are using on the terminal server:

TSUser: jdoe
TSPwd: asdf1234

VNTGServerUser: jdoe
VNTGServerUser: asdf1234

This SHOULD work... *holds breath* as long as what you say is true, i.e. the
terminal server AND the vantage server (the one with the shared folder) is
not in a NT Domain.

You could then place in each of these users startup folder a batch file with
something like:

net use v: \\VANTAGESERVERNAME\SHARENAME /persistent:no
