I have a remote user who accesses our Epicor environment using a Microsoft Surface Pro 8 device, running Windows 11 (64bit, i7).
Since yesterday (3/22/2022), he has been unable to log into Epicor.
When he enters his credentials, he sees a dialog that reads “Epicor Is Offline.”
I have seen this dialog before.
Generally, it displays when the Epicor server is not active (while it’s rebooting, for example).
At this time, the Epicor server is up, and working normally.
We also confirmed that the user is connected to the VPN that our staff uses at home and in the field.
Right now, we’re investigating whether there may be a compatibility issue involving the installed .NET version(s).
Has anyone experienced an issue like this, involving a Surface device?
Is anyone aware of compatibility issues involving Epicor 10.2.700.29 and Windows 11?
Since first posting, we’ve had some more people take a look here on site.
I believe the problem is a result of the user running Epicor on a personal device,
that is not on our company’s domain.
Connecting to Epicor under these conditions is not supposed to be allowed.
For now, we’ve got him connecting remotely to a machine here on the premises, that will run Epicor for him. May send him a company computer in the future.
We are experiencing this exact same issue with our primary outside rep on 10.2.200.3
VPN seems fine, they can navigate to the Epicor server and the fileserver just fine. Same error, if you wait it gives a socket timeout.
