Surface 3 with Epicor V9 or 10

I just ran the client installers from the E9 and E10 servers. I don’t recall if there was a message about needing to download .Net when installing Epicor but I do remember it when installing an application. .Net just downloaded and installed without issue.

I actually had to install it twice. I was having an issue with getting Windows Updates and the cracker jack tech support team advised me to refresh my Surface. It went against my better judgment but I did it. After the refresh, I reinstalled my programs, which included Epicor and it installed and runs without issue.

Interesting, I tried that and I still got the error (which is well documented, I might add.). Joe had no issues at all, seem odd that some folks have no issue yet I and a large group, based on the posting, have had issues. Makes no sense. I have read about the process Anthony mentioned but did not have the correct syntax so I will try that. I will post my results.

Thanks for the ideas all.

I think you need to enable 3.5. I did some testing on a surface with mes and client installs and the process installed 3.5.

You can also just enable in control panel

I did mine through the client installer. So I installed 9.05.607a client installer and then it downloaded the 702a files during testing.

I have been attempting to install either version of the Epicor Client on my Surface Pro 3. I continually get an error when the install attempts to go out and download the .Net 3.5 framework. It appears there is not a “published” version of that for Windows 8.1 and the installed version 94.5) won’t satisfy the installer. I have Googled to my heart’s content and tried all the suggested fixes, no joy. Anyone else got this T shirt?

Thanks and hate Windows 8.1 for what it is worth. Man am I getting old.

Subject: [Vantage] Surface 3 with Epicor V9 or 10

I have been attempting to install either version of the Epicor Client on my Surface Pro 3. I continually get an error when the install attempts to go out and download the .Net 3.5 framework. It appears there is not a “published” version of that for Windows 8.1 and the installed version 94.5) won’t satisfy the installer. I have Googled to my heart’s content and tried all the suggested fixes, no joy. Anyone else got this T shirt?

Thanks and hate Windows 8.1 for what it is worth. Man am I getting old.

Did you use the client installer or just copy the client folder? I am using the installer and it attemps to download .Net 3.5 right away.

I don’t have 3.5 installed on mine, at least I don’t see it.  I am running 702A on it.
