Support Answer RE: 6.1 PRODUCTION DETAIL REPORT-DMR PROBL

Support was able to duplicate the problem. If you have a DMR that was
rejected and costed, the amount is still in the Actual Job Totals at the
bottom of the Production Detail Report. We use these totals frequently for
job costing reports. It has not been confirmed if there are special
circumstances that cause this to happen.

Thanks for the input. I called Vantage Support this morning and faxed the
documentation to them. In this particular incident, the parts were
rejected
and expensed but the cost is still included in the actual totals for the
job. Support is investigating.

I'm not 100% sure I understand the question Karen, but here goes:

Defective parts reported as "Scrap" just reduce the count that the
job yields, but the costs stay in the job.

Parts reported as "Nonconforming" and then processed through DMR
carry their costs out of the job with them as they leave. Their
costs eventually hit the ledger in the DMR account.

So, the eventual cost per part calculation depends on the Labor
reporting.

As far as I can tell it still works correctly in 6.1.

Has anyone on 6.1 found a problem with the job total and cost per part
on
the Production Detail Report when you have rejected parts that were
costed?
In the past when parts are rejected, the amount for labor, burden,
material,
and subcontract was listed under the Job Totals at the bottom of the
report.
These amounts had already been subtracted out of the totals. Now it
appears
that the rejected costs are not subtracted out. The amount that was
costed
for the parts shipped is short by the exact amount of the rejects. So,
if
I
subtract out the cost of the rejected parts, then the cost of sales that
was
posted from the job is correct. Anyone else come across this problem?
