Hi,
We have a DMR tag in report builder that is printed out and put on the
parts. A material review board reviews our open DMR report (also report
builder) and dispositions the DMR's.
If parts came out of stock and can be reworked then engineering puts a "S"
job on with the rework operations using the part# as a material. Then QA
receives the parts to that job and they are auto received back to stock at
the last rework operation.
If parts came from a job, and operation is added to that job, and parts are
received to that job. If you want a copy of any of the report builder
reports let me know and I can send them to you.
Thanks,
Judy Stauduhar

Subject: To Users of Vantage Quality Assurance Module
We at Caterpillar's Tech Center are currently in the process of implementing
the Quality Assurance module in Vantage.
Currently we use a "Non-conformance identifier" to identify and segregate
discrepant parts from the good ones. This is basically a sheet that has
information about the job, part, operation, feature etc.
Question - what system do you (users of the Quality Module) use to identify
and segregate discrepant parts in the shop floor ? The Quality module is not
going to identify which pieces are good and
bad.
Do you use some kind of a similar identifier or some marking on the part or
other visual means ?
Thanks
