Strange problem with shipping on 5.2

Thank you! I received a couple of other responses off list as well. It
seems that this is caused whenever a SO line is closed and then re-opened
(either by creating and then deleting a packing slip or by marking the SO
closed and then re-opening).

When I called it in to Epicor I was able to reference all this information
and they acknowledged the bug (362BRK) and said it would be fixed on a
future patch (SCR 1360). I don't know when but it's a step in the right
direction!

We are on 5.2, patch 317. Since going to 5.2 we have had an intermittent
problem when creating packing slips. Every Sales order we create is linked
to a job. When we create the packing slip, usually, picking the sales order
line item and release automatically enters the job# and defaults to total
release quantity. We have never had an issue with this prior to 5.2.

Now on 5.2, this works correctly 90% of the time. However, the rest of the
time, when we add the packing slip line, the job# and job qty fields get
grayed out and only allows us to enter inventory. The job is linked to the
sales order release and has not yet been shipped. I have been unable to
find any common element among the jobs having this problem and have even
experienced this first hand so I know the users aren't doing something wrong
all of a sudden.

We have been working around this by entering the job# and job quantity when
the packing slip line screen first opens, and then selecting the sales order
release and this method works, but it is more cumbersome and should not be
necessary. I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

We've had the same problem and the only way that we've found to fix
the problem is to unlink the the sales order and job then relink
them. This allows the job# to show up as it usually does.
