Hi all

This is my first post so here goes.

We are on Vantage 6.1.532 and have had a user enter a customer shipment
with a zero quantity. This then invoived the customer just the delivery
charge.

Is there a way to stop a zero shipment or at least warn the user. The
only method I could think of is change the crystal report to put some
warning text on the pack slip.

Any help would be geatefully appreciated.

Richard,
Welcome!
How technical are you? There are a bunch of things you could do with a BAM
(Business Activity Manager) to alert users via email, pop up notices,
etc...and they will happen before printing, but after the line is entered.
Might we a useful avenue if you are not afraid of a little bit of coding.
If programming is not one of your interests, The packing slip is the next
logical approach that I can think of also.
Good luck,
Let me know if you decide to venture into BAM for this.

I would be interested in the Popup solution. We have a problem where our shipping people sometimes double ship an item or they ship from stock but vantage has defaulted the qty in the ship from job box.

If anyone else has something like this mostly built, please step in.
If no one does Jeremy, figure out what logic rules based on what fields you
are interested in triggering the pop-up, and contact me off-line.

Many thanks

Well, yes and no.
You can use the ShipHead.ReadyToInvoice field (Shipped check box) to trigger
an alert that looks for lines that meet the conditions you desire.
This does have the negative of having to ship the item in order to be
alerted, but that can also prevent early trigger if you set up the shipment
and add the numbers when you ship.
Is this what you are looking for?
