SSRS Sub report width

I can’t seem to figure out how to change the width of a sub report. Not it’s width in the main report, but when I’m editing the sub-report itself.

I’ve changed the report layout from Landscape to Portrait, and checked the page size settings.

All of the tablix’s seem to have a rectangle in them. If I change the Rect’s width in the properties pane, nothing happens.

MS doc’s say

To change column width

  1. In Design view, click anywhere in the tablix data region to select it. Gray column handles appear on the outside border of the tablix data region.
  2. Hover over the column handle edge that you want to expand. A double-headed arrow appears.
  3. Click to grab the edge of the column and move it left or right to adjust the column width.

But I can’t seem to grab the tablix data region. It always selects a Rectangle.

Also, Is there a Report explorer that lists all the elements in the report (like Crystal Reports has) ?

Turns out there was an element (a line object) that was keeping me from making the report body narrower.

Now back on the main report, I can’t seem to find what is keeping me from reducing the width of Tablix2. And without an object explorer, I can’t even determine if there is an Tablix1.
