I have a test database and need to move a report to my live database, do I need to download all the files and upload them and then also change the data source in every file or is there an easier way?

If you are in 10.1 you can use solution workbench
In E10.0 to E10.1.500+ the solution workbench can be used.
In E10.1.400+ you could also import/export SSRS RDLs within Report Style Maintenance.
