Split Job with Serial Numbers

Just seeing if anyone has seen this before. What should we do?

Our users will create a job. qty 15
Assign Serial Numbers to the jobs,
Split the job and move serial numbers to new job. New job qty 7, Old Job qty 8

Job Tracker of the original job shows all serial number still associated to it (All 15 Serial Numbers)
Job Tracker of the new job show all of the serial numbers associated to the new job (7 serial numbers)
Serial Tracker show the correct job for each serial number.

Not sure of the right answer here. As we sometimes want to the serial number to show up on the original job (units that are serviced get added to a new job), but in this case since the job was split before the items was completed, we do not.

Just seeing if we are using the system in a way that we shouldn’t be The way around this is we put all of the parts on back on the shelf, then split the job. Then reassign the parts to the jobs.

I have been discussing this same problem with Epicor since I went to E10.1.500.18, Job tracker is not updating the serial number info, it is working just like you said. you have to go to serial number tracker to see the correct info on the serial numbers. I added a additional field into job tracker called SN Status, which shows if the SN is in WIP, Shipped, Rejected, etc. This problem has every SN always in WIP before you would see status changes also. Epicor told us that they will fix it in E10.2 but after complaining that I am not planning to move to E10.2 they finally gave in and said they would have a fix in E10.1.500.27, The Problem is listed under PRB0186514 please get yourself added to the problem and let them know you would like this fixed also.
