Speaking on Epicor's Suggestion Database

These are issues. We are looking forward to using the QA module for scrap
disposition, but believe data collection would be much more efficient for us
as well. We don't have an inspector check scrap as the QA module would like
you to. That is actually one of the big reasons we have not activated it
yet. Imagine that, we own the module, but are not able to put it to use.
We are handling engineers in the same way your are (Access database for us).
We are looking forward to entering their time directly as well.
These are both great suggestions that would make a real difference for
us...How do I add my name to the list?

Hi,
One of the reason's for my 0 rating is the following. I was told
that it doesn't come up as an issue in their database so it wasn't even on
the survey, and I believe the Minnesota user group has been asking about
it
for the last 2 years. In data collection we would like the ability to put
in multiple scrap codes. We rarely scrap all of the pieces for the same
reason, so we would like to put in that we scrapped 2 for being bent, and
2
for being scratched in one screen. Right now we put them in other and put
the detail in the comments, but you can't sort these out. The only other
answer is to have the operator keep punching in and out of the operation
and
have them record them, which is very time consuming. We also would like
some people (engineering, technical people) to be able to fill out an
electronic time card at the end of the day, saying they spent 2 hours on
this project, 2 hours on this other project ect. It isn't practical for
them to punch in and out so we track all of this offline. I was amazed
when
I was told there was no interest in any changes to data collection like
this
in their database. Am I imagining things, or does anyone else recall
talking about this? Am I the only one that has these issues?
Thanks,

I have been requesting this same change for a couple of years, I will call
today and attach my name to it also, I'm looking thru my records because I
think it was the same thing only with a different suggestion number. I still
can't believe that a software pack in the year 2002 would still have
character field width problems and numeric limitations in it's fields.

Here's one we just added our name to. We just need extra decimals in the
Part File and Inventory Transactions. I know it would require a schema
change but this over 5 years old.

************************************************************
*** Page ID: 171.682
*** Status: Suggestion
*** Created On: Oct 15 1996
*** Changed On: Mar 18 1998
*** Added By: Tammie Fuerstenberg
*** Product: VANTAGE
************************************************************
SUMMARY: Customer has a few parts that are stamped out of steel that are
very small. They produce 1,000's / order. The quantity/parent of raw
material is = to 6 decimal places. Because the .000034 is midway between
logical rounding points, rounding up or down over time will be significantly
over/understating costs.

SOLUTION: Would like to see additional decimal places be available per
part, changed from 5 to 6.

ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION:Let user define the amount of decimal places they will
need to effectively run their business.
