It is on the Job display as well. It shows it as if it went to stock.

Here's my two cents on this process. We used WIP-to-WIP transaction quite a bit, however it was causing all kinds of problems at the job close process. When you bring up a job to be closed in the job closed screen, our first check is to make sure our quantity completed equals quantity shipped plus quantity inventoried. Well the WIP-to-WIP transaction is not accounted for in this screen, so the person in charge of closing jobs was going nuts because they couldn't figure out where the balance of parts went. The only place that you can see this transaction is in the production detail report for the job. It was enough of a pain in the neck that we stop using the transaction and now move everything to inventory and immediately issue to another job.

Well I couldn't actually tell what you were trying to do. If we have a work order that the cost should go to another work order for whatever reason instead of posting it to stock and then issuing the part to the work order (affecting weighted average for us) we basically post it directly to the next work order. You need to have a material line on the second work order to receive the part(s). Try it in your training database. It works very well for us. The transaction is represented as a WIP-to-WIP on the second w/o on the material line. On the original w/o it shows on that it was posted to "stk". on the w/o header. The cost flow from on w/o directly to the other. I don't know if that made any sense but if you need me to I could create a kinda flow chart to represent what I am talking about.

FOR us WIP is just one warehouse where the the uncompleted quantity
for the part is sitting.
