Solution to assign work to each employee?

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with scheduling the working details for the employees.

As a Shop Floor supervisor, I have to plan which work employees have to do (including Job, Operation, Resource) for a week. I don’t know how to use MES for this requirement. Are there the Epicor features to do that, or we have to do it out of the system. Or can we customize it? If can, please give me some idea for this.

Do you mean we will design 1 resource equal to 1 employee? In my case, a resource is a group of employees.

The group of resources is called as resource group within Epicor. In Employee maintenance you can assign a resource group and resource so I guess 1 resource = 1 employee.

Thank you for your suggest. I confuse with how to define the resource group and resource - which is the best practice for it.

The other option would be to have employees entered as a resource group with generic names (in case you have turnover you don’t have to redo your group). Then assign capabilities to these resources so the system can schedule jobs based on those capabilities.

In some instances, your constraints are the machines, but in others it’s the people who are qualified to do the work itself.
