Short Picking on a job - How to find out when material is now in stock?

Hi team,

We are currently struggling with this, there is no process for follow-up picking for jobs on previously short-picked items from the warehouse when they do come into stock. Ideally when an item has been short-picked, on its receipt into stock there should be a check of open demand on short-picked jobs, then an automatic notification to the picking team to pick and deliver those parts to production

The current process is that the picklist is put with the picked items and production then need to manually check all the open picks on a daily basis to determine if and when parts have arrived. Given the volume of picks and growth expected this is not workable and inefficient. Currently 25% of all lines picked are short picked.

Is there any efficient solution to manage this in Epicor?

You might want to look into the areas of replenishment and time phase parts of the system.

I suspect that you may need to build a function that could be scheduled to alert or perhaps a bpm to trigger an email, on the receipting process…

A Baq would be the first start to have that list of short-picked jobs and the parts that you can lookup when they are received… Each time the part is received it uses the part number as the parameter of the BAQ and returns a result and fires the email if there is a result.

Totally over simplified, but you get the idea I hope.

Of course there may be some other report of functionality that I am not aware or and always go for the out of the box first before embarking on customisations.
