Shop Load Report

Does the Shop Load report include “what if” hours? Or are these hours only released jobs? We have a few jobs that were engineered but not released and they show up on resource scheduling board, but are these “what if” hours also in the Shop load totals? If not, where can I see actual scheduled hours and the what if scheduled hours?

No, the shop load report only includes scheduled (actual released) hours.

Check out the Site Schedule Load. It has options for what-if. Having said that, this report never works for me. There are some executive queries(cubes) that need to run, and they never work for us.

The Overload Informer also has some good what-if information.

I was hoping you might answer! I have seen a lot of your scheduling posts and we are just getting into the scheduling part of Epicor.

What we are trying to do is schedule the hours for upcoming jobs that our planning team has not finished as “what if” only. That way we are not losing visibility in production on these hours. We also want to be see what our actual load is. Is there a better way to do this? Or maybe a better report to pull that will show my actual hours and my what if hours? And I agree with you on the site load and resource load graphs. Even with EpicCare, they were not fully able to get these working correctly. :expressionless:

I hate to dash your hopes, but I don’t have the best answer here. I had worked to setup scheduling, and when I wrote the post we were “scheduling”. But in the end, scheduling still happens manually due to our antiquated business processes. We are in the early stages of working with a consulting company to review and modify our practices to better fit with the capabilities that Epicor has.

Hopefully once that is done, we can say that we are scheduling jobs in Epicor for real, then I could answer these questions for you. Until then, I am sure someone else here can help you out.

Good luck! and keep us posted if you find a good solution without us.
