I saw touch screens on your list. We have them for our data collection. An
interesting thing came up when we ran across a custom programming glitch.
The glitch was that when entering one or two fields, the touch screen
wouldn't enter the data, whereas the keyboard would. It took over a week
for us to find the glitch. The reason? 90% of the employees use the
keyboard rather than the touch screen when punching in the numbers. We only
found the problem when the few employees that actually press the numbers on
the keypad couldn't enter the information.

My point: Maybe touch screens aren't all their cracked up to be. Most people
are computer literate enough to be comfortable with keyboards. We have
about close to 150 people that use our data collection terminals.

I need to budget replacement of 20 shop floor data collection PC's.
Old office PCs most with light pens? Light Pens are not used much any
more.
I would like 17" monitors to view prints thru AutoVue.

What do all of you recommend if you could start from scratch?
Citrix?, Touch Screens?, Wireless? Wireless PalmPilot with a tool box
clip?
Please reference models, versions and vendors if possible.

In my opinion, I would go with thin-clients via Citrix.

What type of thin client would you recommend replacing my old PC's?
