Shipping/Purchase order report

I am trying to create a report that is a shipping history report of selected parts by month compared to a purchase order report of the corresponding part number. For example, we have a part number 406323 that ships to our customer. I would like a report that shows the shipping history of that part plus a Purchase order history of the corresponing casting (4063230-C). Is it possible to find a link between shipping and purchasing?
