We are working on an implementation of Epicor E10 Public Cloud. We have a WooCommerce web store where we process client shipments, which we plan to integrate with Epicor. We were trying to use the ShipStation plugin with the web store, but there are character length limitations that prevent us from producing proper customs documentation (commercial invoice). So now we are considering using Epicor for outbound product shipping functionality.
My question is specific to Canada: We ship most of our product cross-border to the US. Is anyone else using E10 out of the box (without using Manifest / QuickShip / etc.), to produce all the required customs documentation? What is the shipping functionality / integration like, especially with UPS?
If you end up looking at Manifest, we ran into an issue setting up Manifest for a Canadian based company a yer ago. UPS at time did not provide API access to the worldease functions. Give the Manifest/Quickship team a call to review if this has been added.
(I added this info about WorldEase for anyone else who reads this)
Epicor out of the box isn’t going to have an integration to UPS or the forms you are looking for, they use Quickship for this. Maybe someone here has already created the forms in SSRS?
I have seen plenty of integrations to UPS Worldship where you import data from Epicor into WS. this can be done via text files for each shipment or a batch at the end of the day.
We are not planning to implement Manifest or QuickShip Phase one. We were under the impression that there was some basic UPS integration out of the box - if you go to Material Management - Shipping / Receiving - General Operations - Customer Shipment Entry - Manifest Info, there are tabs for FedEx and UPS, including UPS Quantum View tabs / fields. Are those only used with something like Manifest / QuickShip (data collection only, rather than any sort of native functionality)? I am assuming we would have to create custom forms / documents for the commercial invoice. I would definitely be interested in hearing from anyone who has built integration to WorldShip.
Glen,
Those fields only have functionality when you are using Manifest/Quickship. Not to say you cant use those data fields if you build an integration with Worldship.
