Setup Efficiency for incentive plan

Sounds like you need to write a report to handle this. If only one
employee working setup on an operation, I would try an RB report with
Labordtl -> Joboper. Group on Labordtl.employeenum, Labordtl.jobnum,
Labordtl.assemblyseq, and then labordtl.oprseq. Try comparing
Joboper.EstSetHrs to an aggregate of hours worked on each operation's
setup (labordtl.labortype = "S"). Use the same report to calculate
production efficiency (labordtl.labortype = "P").

It would get complicated if more than one employee per operation
setup. Splitting production efficiency is fairly simple since you
have a quantity produced, hours worked and an expected quantity per
hour. There is a field in Labordtl called SetupPctComplete which may
be helpful in this scenario. Good luck.

We are in the process of developing an incentive plan for our production
employees. The dilemma I have is how to handle Setup hours & setup
efficiency. I would like to use the workcenter efficiency report to do this
without getting into an administrative nightmare.
Vantage takes the hours reported PER DAY against the setup standard to
determine the efficiency of the setup reported. (i.e.: Employee works 5
hours on a 10 hour setup and punches out for the day. Setup Efficiency: 10/5
= 200% yet the setup is only partially done). At the end of the week or
month when we review the setup efficiency it is inaccurate because of these
setups that straddle 2 or more days. Also, someone could spend three 8 hour
days (24 hours) on this 10 hour setup, yet each day would say they were
(10/8) 125% efficient in the setup.
The costing in the job would be accurate with the 24 hours accounted for but
how do we account for setup in our incentive plan. Any ideas would be
appreciated. Thank you.
