All of our parts are configured and “parts on the fly”, so all of our jobs are suggested with methods pulled from the configurator. Currently, every job is suggested to end the day before the order calls for it to ship. Then we have to reschedule every single job by hand (for reference we’re at 55,000 jobs and counting over the past 3 years, maybe 50-75 jobs/day). We need at least a 7 day buffer between job end date and order ship date.
I do see in part maintenance where you can set a Receive Time in Sites-Planning, but I don’t see any place to get that info into suggestions for parts on the fly.
Have you seen anything that would create that buffer on suggested jobs for parts on the fly?
@Alicia I don’t see any way to set or feed that date into scheduling the job, but it somehow uses the data from part in the scheduling process.
We do something with the Queue Hours on the resource group for final audit to simulate this offset. I did a test with our packing RG and used 56 hours and an 8 hour per shift calendar I get a 7 day queue time. I have a date field on JobHead that gets set with JobOper.QueStartDate that we labeled the Production Due Date.
