Service Connect 9.05.701

We have our test ESC environment on a small virtual machine. Doesn't require a lot to run service connect.

Might be a dumb question, but we created workflows in our Test enviroment on Progress Database Port 9421. Once we go live how do we point it to the Live Database which is port 9401

Thanks
Jim
Yes.
2. Go to the .NET References node
3. Right click and select ADD Reference...
4. On the first screen click Next
5. On the .NET Reference Information screen, click on the "..." button, go to the Epicor client folder and
select the assembly file called Epicor.Mfg.BO.Customer.dll, on the Reference Name specify Customer,
ensure the Import all methods checkbox is checked and the Assembly Type is Epicor Assembly and click
Next
6. On the Logon to Epicor screen specify the AppServer (Epicor server name), Port (i.e. 9401 for Live, 9421
for Test, 9431 for Pilot, etc) and a valid username and password and click Next. Ensure the username has
enough permissions to create parts and customer cross reference records.
7. On the next screen click Next and Service Connect will start importing the references
8. When the process finished click Next and Finish

Might be a dumb question, but we created workflows in our Test enviroment on Progress Database Port 9421. Once we go live how do we point it to the Live Database which is port 9401

Thanks
Jim

I will try that, I tried doing a Backup then restore and changing the Port number on the Part Reference but data still went into Test database.

Jim,
Are you using Webservices or .NET for your references??

Honestly, the best idea is to have 2 service connect servers. One that points to production E9, and one that points to a test E9. Do development in the test one, and backup restore to the live one.

I agree. That is what we do as well, especially since we have a lot of production workflows running all week.

That makes alot of sense, I was wondering how to build new workflows or make changes to existing ones. I'm sure on the test server it would not have to be as much hardware as the live.
Thanks for the feed back. It's amazing how fast users get back to you than Epicor
