Manasa,
I've found that when you are offsite sometimes even a domain machine can "fail" validation and like Stephen said you need to be on the domain for it to work correctly. A work around is to trick the server into thinking that the computer is on the domain. If the users machine is windows 7 you can use credential manager to do this
Start Menu -> Control Panel -> and search for Credential Manager
In Credential Manager click Add a Windows Credential
Enter the name of the Epicor 10 server as it shows in the config
Enter a DOMAIN\UserName
Enter a password
Save
Once you've done this, any time your machine addresses that server it will basically act like you are logged in under the provided credentials and this will satisfy the security requirements for log on.
Give it a shot
Thanks!

In E10 windowsUsernameChannel uses windows transport security to protect credentials over the wire.
This means you need to be on the Domain or running Epicor as a user on the domain. Check the Windows security event log on the Epicor application server as his account may not have the correct level of access.

I have a guy who no matter how many times we have reset the Epicor password he gets this error message.
He is out of our Germany office. We have changed his VPN password and his network password.
It turns out if he logs onto Epicor through someone else’s VPN credentials he can log into Epicor under his name with no issues.
Anyone have any ideas what could be going on here?
