We have been using serialization fine and ran into issue.
Here is what my user sent me:
userI tried to assign serial numbers to job T037089 this morning and E10 will not allow me to. The only reason I can see why it will not let me is that we are getting ready to go from a 4 digit based serial number to a 5 digit based serial number. (We have produced over 10,000 65-C26869-2 auto slat valves) The part entry is currently setup as a 5 digit with no leading zeros, however it will still not allow me to assign serial numbers to the job.
me: Is it giving you an error message or just will not do it?
user: Both. I receive an error and it will not do it. Screen shot below. Also if you notice also below, the format tab still has 4 digits with leading zeros checked. When I check the part entry the two do not concur. The last screenshot reflects how part entry is setup.
You can see here in the screen shot the Select serial number still shows 4 but on the part record it is set to 5.
