Mark,

The wizard is brain dead. Save your BAQ (and export to xml for good
measure), clear the BAQ from the wizard & reload it.

You should then see all fields (except calc fields) available for
searches.

...Also be sure the BAQ is public and shared!

I am trying to use the instructions below to add a new search to the
quote entry screen. I am using the "Character01" field to hold our own
quote number to help get past the problem of Vantage's inability to have
quote revisions. I have a BAQ with the quote number, quote date, and
character01 for fields and no filtering. When I do the Analyze I get the
3 columns as expected but when I go to the BAQ Search tab there are no
"Available Like Columns" to select. Am I missing something? I am on
8.03.305k.

I'm looking to modify the search that allows you to select the appropriate
DMR # on inspection processing. The stock stock search locates all the open
DMRs related to the part number that is question on the inspection
processing form. The only problem is there is know what to get the BAQ to
filter for both open DMRs and the ones with the same Part Number, that I
have found at least. Unless some one else has another idea.

My brain is mush today Charlie... I'm not following.

Is this search being done from the Inspection processing app or the DMR processing app?

Big difference in whether or not a BAQ search would work depending upon the app.

If you're trying to find already inspected (failed) Stock DMRs from the Inspection processing app, I don't think it is possible.

If you simply want to have DMR processing app search that shows you all DMRs (open or closed/dispositioned) for a specific part, that is managable.

The DMRHead table is very simple for PartNum, DMRNum, OpenDMR, WarehouseCode & BinNum.

If you outer join DMRHead to DMRActn (another simple table) you can also display info for the closed/dispositioned DMRs. (You might then inner join DMRActn to the ReasonCode table and the Inspectr table so people see english language descriptions & names instead of codes.)

To also display info regarding the source of the DMR (specifically the stock inspection failure), you can inner join (thru Company, PartNum, DMRNum) DMRHead to the PartTran table.

Over time, the number of DMR records builds up so you could then take your BAQ, make a DashBoard (allowing user filter selection by PartNum or whatever else is pertinent to you) and use that as an Advanced Search in DMR Processing.

Make sense? (or am I totally misunderstanding your issue?)

Yeah Charlie... That weird prefilter in the std search of Insp Processing (allowing the user to limit the types of pending inspections sitting in the inspection queue to bring into the app) seems indemic to priming the app to even function properly.

Buyers WB is similar - although at least there, with MUCH time consuming experimentation, you CAN finally get away with adding some additional info to a working Advanced search (that still supports the necessary multiple record selection).

Wish I could have helped.

Rob

Is it possible to also make it so we can enter a "Starting At" value
like the regular search so they don't have to scroll through the entire

The wizard is brain dead. Save your BAQ (and export to xml for good
measure), clear the BAQ from the wizard & reload it.

You should then see all fields (except calc fields) available for
searches.

...Also be sure the BAQ is public and shared!

Subject: [Vantage] Re: Search add columns

I am trying to use the instructions below to add a new search to the
quote entry screen. I am using the "Character01" field to hold our own
quote number to help get past the problem of Vantage's inability to have
quote revisions. I have a BAQ with the quote number, quote date, and
character01 for fields and no filtering. When I do the Analyze I get the
3 columns as expected but when I go to the BAQ Search tab there are no
"Available Like Columns" to select. Am I missing something? I am on
8.03.305k.

default search for the target app if applicable.
