I was asked this and I believe the answer is no. However, wanted to ask the group here to see if I am wrong and missing something. I was told, upon telling them no, that even QuickBooks and Sage have this functionality.
I have a transaction that is EXACTLY $X,XXX.XX. Is there a way to search for transactions in that amount across all modules?
Not sure if this helps but did you check under GLJrnDtl table?
This guy isn’t wanting to get into the tables, he was looking for something already in Epicor int he search functionality. He even mentioned enterprise search. I informed him that is not what he is thinking it is.
Without searching tables, that’s a big ask. Maybe narrow it down - what type of transaction was it? Then maybe look at PartTran, InvcHead, etc etc etc…@itsme is on the right path with GLJrnDtl too
I agree. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. I told him we should know what type of transaction this is, so we know where to look. Just a weird ask.
I’d build a dashboard that only accepts the single parameter of $ value and then search against GLJrnDtl as was mentioned above, that way the user doesn’t need to see the tables and you can link other tables to provide additional context depending on what ends up coming back (AP, AR, etc).
I suspect the root cause of the ask is that they are already looking at a finance report and are trying to figure out why something happened, I mean that is the only reason I can think of for trying to go at this from this angle.

Remember, QuickBooks also allows you to just delete transactions so there is another way it is flexing it’s uber-awesomeness.
