Sealed Data Collection Stations

Use dumb terms like the Wyse Winterms.

Given the price of the sealed industrial computers, we went a different
route and purchased cabinets which are rated NEMA12 (sealed) and just put
regular PCs (Pentium 200 clones) and monitors inside them. The heat
dissipates through the metal of the cabinet. We use chlorinated oils in our
manufacturing process here, so the systems need to be protected. We have
some systems that have been running constantly for over a year and
everything is okay so far.

In some situations where we didn't need the systems fully sealed, we went
with cabinets with vents installed to get better air circulation and put
filters over the vents.

I have heard in the past references to using "sealed" computers for DC
stations to avoid dirt and dust problems inside the case. Do all
manufacturers make these (Dell, Gateway Compaq et al) and if so what models
do you recommend? We are going to be adding a couple of DC stations soon and
I may go this way..
