To make sure that fields remain hidden, we have had to remove the
epibinding for that field to make sure it stayed hidden....

Nope - The 'band aid' (move controls entirely off the viewable sheet) is
the only one that ALWAYS works.
Some controls - even when set to not Visible, become visible when a
field or event they are tied to triggers them to wake up.
Some controls allow you to change them from Enabled to Disabled (along
with making them Hidden). Try Disabling them along with making them
Hidden.
You also want to be sure you set them so they aren't in the Tabstop
sequence.
I suggest NEVER decoupling the control from its native data view... That
almost always results in "Object missing" app load errors.

We are implementing Vantage 8.03.404a and would like to customize
several screens.
When we go to customize the screens, it seems difficult to
hide "extra" buttons, fields and such.
We can remove them from the screen in design mode, but after saving
the new settings the extra unwanted fields or buttons re-appear,
sometimes on top, underneath or overlapping other items. It is
frustrating for something that should be pretty simple to do.
We have been told to move these items in location off the standard
screen as a bandaid.
Any other tricks to making these changes stick?
Thanks in advance. I watch this dialog daily and appreciate
everyone's cooperation to help each other on these items.
