Scrap vs Discrepant Quantities

Thanks Lydia, I thought that was the case. One of our supervisors just
attended an Epicor class and told me that he was told the opposite. I think
he just misunderstood.

Kathy:

Scrap quantity goes in the bucket (or wherever), never to be seen or heard
of again. If you have the QM Module, Discrepant quantity goes into a
non-conformance queue where someone will have to disposition it-i.e. decide
if it is scrap or reworkable, send it back to the job, or drop it in a
different bucket for the recycle guy to pick up. There are differences in
the financial side of these two as well, so run a production detail report
on a job with each kind so you can see the differences. I'm not live on
5.0 until the 27th, so that's the best I can explain. The good news is that
scrap quantities (in 5.0) no longer appear in the inventory queue for
assemblies that must be dealt with, so that will be a big work saver for us.

Can anyone explain to me what the difference is between Scrap quantity and
Discrepant quantity in Data Collection? Also what does Vantage do with
these entries? We are using ver 5.0.
