Scheduling

Bob,

Go to work center maintenance and under scheduling part of it, check
the box 'split operation'. Also make sure to enter 2 for number of
machines and crew size in the job entry for the operation. This
should work.

venky

Your question was:

we are attempting to use job scheduling and have run into a problem.
The operation time to complete the operation is 200 hrs. This does
not fit in the overall time frame for the job. Correct the problem,
we indicate that two machines (people) will be used for the
operation. we expected to see the schedule reflect this by cutting
the elapsed operation time by half. we saw no affect?

Is our logic wrong or ????
Thanks
Bob
We have two Companies. One Company (ABA) is a custom injection mold
builder. The other Company (PGT) is a custom injection molder. Are any
of you in similar environments using the scheduling module with any
success? If so do you have a full time scheduler?
We have two seperate companies. One is a custom molder and the other is
a custom mold builder. We have made valiant attempts in the past to
schedule the mold building - to no avail. Has anybody successfully
utilized scheduling, particularly a custom mold builder.
I am the scheduler in a 'job shop' environment. I schedule our CNC machines, large manual boring bars and our large manual lathes. Schedules can change every couple of days or so. The most important thing is to monitor your loads. Make sure you understand your work center's capacities and make sure you understand your shop's loads. I schedule based on operators, not machines - because some of our machines are manned only one shift while others are manned on both shifts.

My schedules can change with the ring of the telephone and do daily.

I guess I have been too specific (mold building)with past messages. Is
anybody using scheduling with any degree of success?
