Sales order line items and associated invoices

I have one (RB) not based on invoices but rather the "shipped" portion of orders linked to a job. I called the "WIP Open" report and it shows the portion of jobs that has not shipped yet (our jobs sometimes stay open for months with many releases shipping against them). The report shows estimated profitability based on the known shipped portion versus the assumed costs for the remainder of the job and signals jobs that are likely to wind up negative by the time they close. Very complicated which is why it has been nicknamed "the report from hell" (by me) but our president lives by it. More than once a doomed job has been rescued in time to turn it around. If this sounds like what they are looking for I can send a copy. One hitch...for us job and order are pretty much synonymous but I think it would work in other modes - but it is job driven not order driven.
