Does this work on 6.1? or is this an 8.0 option ...

I sent this a couple weeks ago without any response ... I'll take that
as a "NO". NO one has tried or seen anything like this ... After
another week without response .... I'll get the hint.

Anyway, called Epicor on subject and I have been referred to Custom
Programming ... enough said.

Here it is again for your pleasure ...

I am looking for a way to automate our Sales Order entry process ...
It is a rather lengthy process to add all lines on our Sales Orders with
all information behind ... since we can have a Sales Order with 15 - 20
lines.

I currently see 3 options:

1) Develop Sales Order Template (similar to Quote Template)

2) Have a Sales Order Copy function (similar to what you can do for a
Purchase Order) ... copy over and change header & detail.

3) Modify the Quote "Roll-over" process to enable us to assign our
own Sale Order Number.

I know that a quote will automatically roll over into a Sales Order
(98% there) .... but the system assigns the Sales Order Number. We
however, assign our own Sales Order number due to business reasons ...
(won't go into those) but Quote roll-over function does not quite work
for us as is.

Has anyone done/seen anything like this?

You can use Vantage 8 to paste SO Lines from Excel.

We're trying to do this for PO's and have run into a significant problem on 8.0.806a. If anyone has a solution to this please let me know.

The fields' column order are different for each type: Inventory, Job Material, Subcontracting Operation and Other. Because our engineers enter Job Material, Subcontracting and possibly Other lines, we have to rearrange the fields in the grid to line up the same for every type. We also added a custom field and took away some fields. You have to hit the Base Only box in Developer Mode to save the layout for everyone. But if you add more customization, there's no way to make further changes to the layout without redoing your other customizations. In other words, you always have to start over doing the Base Only grid layout, then the other customizations. Importing the customization doesn't work as it doesn't allow you to change the grid order. Only Base Only without the Import can do this. And another annoyance is the original field order sometimes gets out of whack when you add a field.
