Sales Gross Margin Report - zero Total Cost on line items shipp

If you close the job prior to relieving the costs either through the job
shipment or receiving to inventory it will hit variance, and then it gets
ugly. I have in the past reopened jobs reversed the receiving transaction
etc....

We have started to notice that there are orders that if shipped out of the
job show zero $$ under Total Cost on the Sales Gross Margin Report (even
though the job closing specifically shows costs). It doesn't happen to all
line items shipped out of the job, just most of them.



I don't see what the data entry people are doing wrong. They receive the
order, create a job, manufacture the part and either receive it to stock and
ship out of stock, or leave it in the job and ship out of the job. All
ordered line items that ship from stock accurately display all values on
this report ... but if you ship from a job, Total Cost comes up ZERO.



Does anyone know why?

We have been on average costing forever ... the only time this happens for us is if there was an error on the posting (posted or ship more than what the work order was created for) or if the work order was closed in a prior month... Did anything unusual happen with the work order?
