Running total gives incorrect numbers in 5.0

Yes, we have experience this also. Our OH quantity changed for a
transaction based on the start date we selected. Just found this last week.

Just thought I would put this out there to see if anyone else had
experienced the same thing in 5.0. One day we went to check a
transaction history for a part. Next to one transaction the running
total said 0. Later in the day we went to check the history of the
same part and the entry mentioned above now had a running total of
19,000. It seems to occur on random parts at random times as well.
Just thought I would see if anyone else ran across this. Although it
doesn't seem to have affected our intventory numbers it still seems
like a pretty big bug to me.

A known issue is that Running Totals in 5.0 are no longer accurate after the 50th transaction (and earlier). See if that theory matches your situation. The current running total should be correct, however.
