RMAs Blank Title 74119

What I know from 6.0 and prior versions, is that the RMA module
is...complex...

If you enter a sales order line, it will look in the system for the last
STK-CUS transactionon record for this order and pull this cost through
to cost of goods returns.

If you enter the wrong sales order reference for the right part, it will
look for the the last STK-CUS transaction on record for that sales order
specificed regardless of the part no.

If you do not enter the sales order, it will look for the last STK-CUS
transaction in the part's history and pull this cost through the cost of
goods returns.

So, it doesn't look like it's following any of the expected
logic....does this part have a product group assigned to it? Does the
sales order have a product group listed on the line? And you also may
want to look at the cost of returns settings in the product group and/or
company configuration?

No, it is various parts, and if the RMA has a sales order then the cost
goes to COGS if not, it goes to the change in inventory.

Do you have a GL account set on the Part itself?

When a part is received on a RMA that does not have a sales order
associated with it, the part cost is journaled to the change in
inventory account instead of the respective cost of goods sold account.
I have the product groups set up correctly, and the part cost is
journaled to the correct cost of goods sold account. Is there a set up
that is missing that is causing the part cost to go to the wrong general
ledger account if there is not a sales order on the RMA? We are on
Vantage 8.03.406.
