We are starting to use the RMA processing and disposition module of
QA and have some questions. We currently are on 4.00 904 but going
live on 5.00 346 on Apr 15. If in parts disposition you are going to
rework the parts and send to a job, you already have to have a job#
to link to. What triggers the appropriate people that a job and or
order must be setup for the rework? Then once you have a job setup
what triggers the disposition of the parts? The same is true for
discrepant or scrap parts. There is a global alert for receipt that
fails inspection but what triggers the disposition and the remaking
of the scrap parts and adding that to an order. If someone would
have a little time to discuss this please email off list. Any help
is appreciated. Thank you
Yeah that is where I am looking for the costs.... for the RMA still not there???? Where did you complain because I would like to complain as loudly as I can as well!!!

Yes, it did change in 5.2. We unchecked the Move Costs to DMR box while in
5.1. Management decided that they did not want to expense the rejected costs
at the time of reject any longer--they wanted to see the total cost of the
job, including the scrapped parts. We have a Report Builder report that gave
us the cost of the scrap so that we could monitor how much scrap there
actually is. We were very upset when we discovered that our scrap costs had
disappeared and we complained bitterly to Vantage about it. We got a custom
fix to get the costs back. I am surprised that more people have not
complained. If enough complains, maybe they will add it back in.

As far as RMA's, the cost doesn't post until Inspection clears the parts.
For example, if Inspection accepts the parts back to stock, the system will
post a credit to the Cost of Returns account and a debit to the Inventory
account.

A few weeks ago I asked about the Non-conformance cost not showing up on the
non-conformance report... well I found out that it changed in 5.2 and now
that if you don't have the box checked to move cost to dmr then there are no
cost on the report.... but now I have found that our RMA cost are not
showing up anywhere either.... is there anyone on 5.2 or 6.0 that have this
issue... I have e-mailed epicor but haven't heard anything back yet. Is
this tied to the same check box even though it isn't a DMR? So when parts
come back from our customer... COS are not credited and inventory is not
being debited... Is there anyone else that doesn't have that box checked?
