Revision 5 upgrade

We jumped from 3.0 to 5.0 a few weeks ago. It took over 24 hrs. from start to finish (to get 5.0 alive), then had some account changing to do, Report Links to update, etc.

We had a few flewky things happen in the GL, but not major. Our biggest adjustment came with the MRP module that we began using, and if you have the Quality Module, that will change some procedures for DMR's etc. too.

We are on the .322 patch and it seems to work fine. We use data collection with no problems. The problems I heard of were for folks using Citrix or something on data collection stations.

Is the Vantage revision 5.0 software with the most recent patch now safe to use?

I know that when the software was initially released a number of problems (about 150 bugs) were
reported. The one that most concerned me was the Data Collection Failure.

I have been on the Epicor Website and looked at the upgrade installation directions and see no
change in them from when they were initially written. Even though several complaints were
expressed concerning information that was lacking or incorrect in the procedure.

Is there a new (updated) procedure and if so where can I get it?

Any information or opinions are greatly appreciated.

When you download the latest patch to 5.0, there a .wri file that shows the
latest changes. So you can download them both, print the .wri file and see
what's been done.

And I know I've said this before, but two things I've learned about
upgrades: make sure the accountant is on board (oks the date during your
fiscal period to make the change) and sees the list of changes - before you
do the deed; and I would never advise jumping through two versions at a
time-it makes it too hard to find a problem should it rear it's ugly head.
Meanwhile, have a great 4th of July week.
