Research Jobs Blank Title 73651

Yes you can create a job with a part number not in your master list.
You can use your existing ops...then record time against it.

Subject: [Vantage] Research Jobs

We are currently contracted to review an existing part assembly, break
it down, research and provide a list of possible improvements to the
part.

We are not building a part but just analyzing it. We have a sequence of
operations to test the part.

Is it possible to create a job in Vantage for a part that does not exist
in our part master list?
Is it possible to create operations in the job without actually creating
a set of new operations in the OpMaster table?

I want users to log into the specific operation to capture labor hours
only.

Can I create this job without using any items from our master files?
(Part master & OpMaster).

This is just a time and materials job.

Thanks,
Jasper

Should be able to do all that in the Quote module rather than as a job.

But you could not clock into a quote to record the time spent!
