Rescheduling Jobs linked to Sales Order Lines

Hi there. Rescheduling Jobs linked to Sales Order lines is a manual process. We often times have 50+ sales order lines, with jobs linked to them. Moving the order dates is easy, but the rescheduling the Jobs is not! How do people out there in E10 land deal with this? Is there a programmatic solution to this? If not, how do you handle this task? We are looking for suggestions.

Thanks

use the global scheduling process and the “synchronize required by dates with demand links” option (either on individual jobs or in company config (or site config cant remember which right now) but then that will ALWAYS move the jobs to be in line with the sale order ship by dates. the only thing that stops the jobs from moving after this is if you schedule lock it.

It’s in Site Maintenance, Planning

Synchronizing dates and global rescheduling would work. I find more companies gun shy about global scheduling than not. If that’s the case for your company, the planning workbench will have these showing as DATE exception and you can go through job manager to manually update.

Otherwise, if you have the DMT there is a Schedule Job DMT you can run. You need the Company, Plant, ScheduleDirection (Start or End), the appropriate Start/EndDate and Start/EndTime. OverRideHistDateSetting is 0 or 1 if you want to back date anything. OverrideMtlCon is 0 or 1 if you want to override material constraints. A simple BAQ can prompt you by order number and fill in the EndDate to match the ReqBy date on the sales order release.

I tried Planning workbench, and Job Manager. No success.

I changed the Need by date on the Order, then ran a Regen MRP. The jobs show up in the Planning workbench, but there is no action button to implement the suggestion to postpone them. Do we have to manually go to each job on the list and reschedule? When I select a line in Planning workbench and use the overflow to go to the Job Manager it just loads the Part number from the job I was looking at. All the cards are blank in Job Manager. Demand = 0 Looks like a useless app.

I made a dashboard based on this to do our recheduleing.

Josh,

I’m not sure why your job manager is showing blank. If you highlight a line in planning workbench, then clicked job manager I would expect the supply and demand to fill in. In the classic version, you would then highlight the supply line and click the Schedule button. It might be in the overflow menu for that section now. That would bring up the schedule window you would see in job entry. It still is a very manual process, but it saves a couple clicks and the added time it takes to open job entry.
