Reporting Quantity UOM different from part UOM?

I am very new to Epicor, so please forgive me if this is too basic. One of our products is processed through multiple operations as rolls (typically 300 SM) and is complete when it is in die cut pieces. The part has been set up with a final UOM as EA, but we have several operations which need to report quantities in SM. I feel like this is a normal property of manufacturing, but I can’t figure how how to make this work.

From what I can tell, I need to use Advanced UOM or Dynamic Attributes, and I found a check box for “Track Multiple UOM” in the Part Maintenance screen. I’m not sure which direction to go. Am I on the right track?

When you set your Bill of Material (BOM) in the engineering workbench, you can choose your UOM.

Short answer is Yes, it’s definitely possible to issue different UOM’s into a job.

Long answer is start reading! (Welcome by the way). Look up job processing, and engineering workbench.

If there is a direct conversion from SM to EA then you need an other UOM Class with the conversion. If it varies by the roll then it would be a part specific UOM conversion that is set in part master.

if it not a direct conversion then AUOM comes in which luckily I do not have to deal with.
