I've tested this a little bit and I don't think the reported scrap does
anything at all. The quantities are only reported in Labor Detail. It
doesn't seem to actually move any costs so these aren't captured
directly anywhere. I think these costs would just end up as material
variances at the end of the job. If you wanted to move costs off the
job, you would have to report operation Non-Conformance and go through
the QA process. Then you would have the option to move costs to DMR and
the scrap costs are more readily apparent.
But as to a costed scrap report without any additional transactions, I
think the hard part would be getting a full cost breakdown combining the
operation labor costs with total material costs (labor, burden, etc) at
each operation. We are currently have this in a spreadsheet but can be
difficult to maintain so I would eventually like to get this to be a
report. Once the operation costs are available, the costed scrap report
should be fairly straight forward.

Subject: [Vantage] Reporting on Scrap entered MES - V8
Hello,
How are people reporting on scrap recorded via MES?
I need to come up with a report that does so and attaches a dollar
value.
Thanks,
