Report Writer Automation?

If you name the report with a prefix of "TXT-", AutoRpts prints this straight to "the reportname.TXT" file in the directory you setup. This should be the same result as doing an export from Report Builder itself. If you need additional help on AutoRpts, please contact me off list.

We have autoreports, but will the text file be in the same format as
the export function in report writer? The reason I ask, is we will
be using this file to import into excel.

Is it possible to run a report in report writer on a nightly basis but
have the result in a text file like the "Export" option within report
builder? If so what would the command line look like?

Thanks,
Tim
Yes this can be done, but you'll need to create a progress procedure to run it, then schedule to launch your progress procedure.

I run about 75 reports after hours with an application called AutoRpts, to specific printers throughout the shop, to files (.TXT, .CSV, .PDF, .XML), send to e-mail addresses, create web pages, create graph generated images or printouts, etc.
