Hi! Is there an available BAQ or field that can used to identify the last time a method of manufacturing was updated? If possible, I would need part number, part description, part class, product group, and last update of method of manufacturing.
This is interesting, I did a quick BAQ on the PartRev table and I cannot fathom how a part was changed two years after the last time it was approved. To honestly change it, you have to check it out and then reapprove it. (My change log also shows 2019 as the last change)
I do know that our engineers have a bad habit of NOT using Method Tracker and checking out the part in Engineering Workbench. But even then, it would still show it being unapproved (even on an undo checkout) and reapproved.
the part audit table does show the history of every time a part is unapproved and checked out/in… This MAY have nothing to do with the last actual change, since you can unapproved and reapprove without making any change. Note that there is a PartRev Effectivity date that also has nothing to do with the actual date that the change was made, since that date is manually entered. The Audit log is the best place to see when any activity was performed.
Thanks, Jason. It seems there’s not a quick BAQ to your point - anytime a method is checked out, reapproved, and checked in, the date will update - either with or without true changes made.
Hi Tim. It looks like the only effective way to accomplish my task is to go part by part and see where changes need to be made. I appreciate your response!
