I think I am not alone in saying change suggestions are just awful…
I found a thread on here on ticking lock date and lock qty on purchase orders which I have done as a test…Yay, no more change suggestions…However
I now have suggestions to place orders when there are already orders placed for some parts. The POs are overdue which is out of our control. The job should have started in July, but these last two parts are now overdue and it is telling me to place a PO for today to solve it, even though there is a PO already which is in the future.
Any ideas on how to resolve this? I really don’t want a suggestion to buy them again, that’s useless and I cannot change the date on the jobs for other reasons.
Without knowing anything else I will presume this is a reaction to the due date on the PO release.
Even if the quantity is sufficient, if the due date does not have the release arriving in time to satisfy the demand, Epicor will view this as an issue it needs to solve. It will first try and suggest you expedite the existing release, but if it can’t (due to settings like lock schedule, etc) it will create a new suggestion.
One solution would be to modify the due date on the release to reflect when it is/was actually supposed arrive, and use the Promise Date to reflect when it will actually arrive.
