I created an RDD report using a BAQ source and criteria for a drop down lookup for part (also using a BAQ). A few weeks ago i Could deploy to menu as Ice.UIRpt.DynamicCriteriaReport.dll and Form to Use locked at ‘User Choice’. Today a similar report deploys identically except Form to Use is locked at ‘Kinetic’ and it will not run.
This happened after recent upgrades to 2024.1.

Sorry, correction. it successfully gets on the menu but when you try to execute it you get an erro that says ‘business layer exception… access not allowed.’

You have to generate the application studio layer I think! Do you remember how to do that?

Good morning I’m Wes’ counter part in another facility with our company. How do you deploy the application studio layer? we are new to using application studio and have been successfully getting dashboards converted and deployed thanks to our time at Insights this year however there were no sessions in using it for report design and deployment. Is there a knowledgebase article or something in the help i’m just not finding?
I may have written an article on it here, I swear I did. Let me try to find it.

To be fair probably several times a week! This week we just seem to have one jam up after another! 
I used this thread to publish a couple of reports in the last two weeks and it worked beautifully, today however I’m running into an issue. We did have a maintenance update over the weekend, so I’m not sure if something changed or if i’m missing something else.
in Step 2, after generating the form I should be able to select App Studio from the overflow menu, but it’s not there?
I deployed a similar report with similar data last week with just Date criteria so i know i successfully did this last week. What am i missing?
I noticed that too and thought I might be going crazy. If you go to application studio home can you find it there?
Very strange, I am sorry I am not on same patch as y’all to help.
I tried that and somehow got myself there once, but none of the report options were there. So it seems like i had to build out the app from scratch, which i am no where near a skill level for that.
No worries - seems like I might have to ask on a support ticket.
No you can’t build it from scratch. I ran into the same issue where I couldn’t get there from report style and also could not find the report layer in the application home page. Then I gave up (I will come back to it later). I am curious what support has to say.
No real help from Support. I did finally figure out that after I Generate the form from report style maintenance, I only need to go back and add the menu item. It seems the act of generating that form is all that is needed, no need to jump into Application Studio create and save the layer.
When adding the menu item I had to let the app list populate and then filter for my report to find it. It wouldn’t find the custom report by using the Start With search.
I figured this out yesterday and have deployed three reports since then with this method and all are working. I updated my support ticket and told them they could close the case.
